If you wish to join the Indian Air Force Group X Y services and serve your country, but you wear glasses for any reason, it is understandable that you might wonder if you are eligible for the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, or Indian Navy. So the answer is yes, but you will need to undergo LASIK surgery, which is why we are writing this article.

There are various requirements for LASIK surgery, so let’s go over them in-depth and make sure we understand everything.

What is LASIK surgery and how does it work?

LASIK surgery forms a crucial part of the Air Force Group X Y eligibility criteria. LASIK is a kind of eye surgery that is also known as laser eye surgery or laser vision correction. It is a form of refractive surgery that is used to treat MYOPIA, HYPERMETROPIA, FORESIGHTEDNESS, and ASTIGMATISM in patients. This surgery is performed by ophthalmologists who utilize a laser to give the cornea the right shape to enhance vision. It is an alternative to wearing spectacles or eyeglasses.

Patients with a thin cornea or extreme myopia are not candidates for Lasik surgery.

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) gathered data in 2006 to support the safety of Lasik surgery. According to NICE, laser surgery for the correction of refractive problems is both safe and useful.

LASIK RISK FACTORS:-

  • Contact lenses and spectacles have been changed.
  • Use of certain medications or medical conditions.
  • Infections, for example, may cause some eye disorders.
  • Many patients complained about this operation after experiencing eye dryness, sensitivity to light, and impaired vision as a result of it.

How does the Lasik surgical method work?

The cornea is our eye’s outermost layer; it bends or refracts the incoming light, focusing the beam and allowing us to see clearly. The cornea is reshaped and imperfections are smoothed away through Lasik surgery.

  • The doctors begin by numbing the eye using drops.
  • They then use a laser to create a corneal flap.
  • Finally, the surgeon inserts the flap and our eye may begin to mend with the help of a computer-controlled laser.
  • For a few days thereafter, you’ll probably have a fuzzy vision and light sensitivity.
  • It normally takes 2 to 3 months for your eyes to recover.

LASIK surgery allowed in:

THE INDIA ARMY:
